Dear Mr. Ifedi:

In 2004 a Community Recognition Awards Program was established  by the Board of Directors of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa. The purpose of this program is to recognize the extraordinary contribution made by individuals or organizations in our community in support of the mission of the Society and of our children and youth.

This award is given to an organization which has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to making a difference in the lives of children, youth or families while working in partnership with the Society.  Staff members, Board members and foster families nominate candidates and a Board committee has the hard job of selecting the award recipient.

The Board of Directors of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa is pleased to inform you that Black History Ottawa  has been selected to receive the Community partner Award.  The Society is recognizing Black History Ottawa’s  assistance in child specific recruitment initiatives and the support of youth in advocating for the work of the Society.

The award will be presented to you or your designate at the Society’s Annual General Meeting which will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 at the Pineview Municipal Golf Course, 1471 Blair Road, Ottawa, Ontario.  Please confirm your attendance, or that of your designate, with Mary Parisien at (613) 747-7800 ext 2601 by September 11th.  There will be an opportunity for the recipient to give a brief two minutes response if desired. The program and meeting should be finished no later than 1:30 p.m.

Congratulations !

Yours truly,

Brian McKee
