June Girvan- President

June is a retired teacher and a recipient of several awards including the Order of Ontario, she has devoted her life to nurturing, protecting and giving voice to children and young people.

Jean-Marie Guerrier-Vice President/Treasurer

Jean-Marie has ben involved in community work for several years and has contributed to help strengthen Black community organizations in both Montreal and Ottawa.

Sarah Onyango- Communications/Public Relations

Sarah hosts the monthly African cultural program Fontonfrom on Rogers TV cable 22-Ottawa as well as the weekly radio programs Black on Black and Afrika Revisited on CHUO 89.1FM. She is very active in the Black community in Ottawa and has done a great job to promote its people, organizations, causes and events.

Joanne Robinson- Events Coordinator

Joanne’s tireless advocacy has contributed to improving the health of our community, she has been involved with several organizations in the community. She is highly regarded for her work in the area of elder care and raising awareness of elder abuse.

Godwin Ifedi- Past President

Godwin is a settlement counsellor with the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization, he is a dedicated community volunteer and advocate for newcomer and the disadvantaged. He is a well-known figure in Ottawa’s Black community and beyond.
