Genealogy

Use this guideline to help you track your family history!
Start with what you know.
Start with yourself. Use a chart to enter the family history information you already know. Even if you don’t know the exact dates and places, estimate them. Circle any missing information and then begin to decide what you want to find first.
Talk with your family.
Talk with your parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents about your family stories. Gather any photos or documents you and your relatives may already have. Ask about copies of birth certificates as well as journals, letters or other documents that your relatives may already have.
Ask if there are other people that you should contact.
